INCI Spotlight: Cannabis Sativa Oil

Cannabis Sativa Oil is derived from the cannabis sativa plant that is native to Asia and is used for three main classifications. Strains are developed for fibres, medicinal and psychoactive purposes, and in our case hemp seed oil extraction.

The oil found in hemp seed is incredibly nutrient dense. It contains a high concentration of fatty acids that improve skin conditions such as eczema and acne. It also contains Alpha-linolenic acid which helps fight against hyperpigmentation.

A recent study in 2021 by the Faculty of Chemistry, Polish University of Poznan has reported that the powerful ingredient also helps against TEWL (trans-epidermal water loss) and increases skin hydration due to its lipophilic components. Omega 6 is found in the oil, also know as gamma-linoleic acid, is an essential fatty acid that provides anti-inflammatory properties and increase skin cell turnover.
